Saving a few write cycles to the internal storage in the process. It can also be used to update the "core" component, saving you an USBMS session and a reboot, and quite a bit of time,Īs it will then use a much more efficient compression algorithm than the standard KoboRoot tarball.Īnother major interest in doing it this way is that the compressed data will never make it to disk, Ideally, do that in a tmux session: e.g., to install/update Python 3, runĬ.f., /usr/local/stuff/bin/update-kobostuff.sh for more details (including how to do offline updates). Or by simply keeping the WiFi popup open), then run update-kobostuff To install (or update) Python, make sure WiFi is enabled and will stick around (i.e., either via ForceWifi, Only the "core" stuff is bundled (i.e., everything except Python). Instead of shipping *everything* in the install KoboRoot tarball, NOTE: Since v1.6.N, the way Python is handled has changed a bit. If you have custom stuff in (or symlinked in) /usr/bin, take a closer look at what this package installs to avoid overwriting your own stuff. This touches neither rcS nor inittab, but if you already have an inetd setup in your inittab, you should probably clean that up, or it will clash. If you really need to, I'd recommend disabling inetd, setting up ssh shared key auth, making dropbear actually check passwords,Īnd locking dropbear to shared key auth only:īy removing the -n switch & adding the -s switch to its startup args, see the comments in /usr/local/stuff/bin/stuff-daemons.sh. Since everything is passwordless, running this on a public/open WiFi would be a *terrible* idea. This script is used to launch both inetd & dropbear. (AFAICT, that loop0 udev trick is used in a number of Kobo packages (David Beinder's kobo-nightmode and Andreas Klauer's AutoPatch, for instance), It also installs an udev rule providing a means to run an user-editable script (/usr/local/stuff/bin/stuff.sh) early during boot. If you want an easy way to launch this script (besides in a shell via SSH over WiFi, as it's symlinked as usbnet-toggle), That said, you *can* manually toggle USBNetworking (provided your device isn't truly ancient), if need be:Ĭ.f., /usr/local/stuff/bin/usbnet-toggle.sh for more details (in particular the fact that I'm using legacy Kindle IP settings p). There is *no* automatic USB networking handling here. The keylist is expected in /usr/local/niluje/usbnet/etc/authorized_keys). The dropbear build provides the same convenience features than my Kindle one (namely, persistent shared key auth: It also provides ftpd/telnetd through inetd (following Kevin Short's KoboTelnet package), plus sshd w/ sftp (dropbear). So almost all of this lives in /mnt/onboard/.niluje, so don't be surprised if stuff goes missing after a factory reset. I still follow the Kindle spirit of "don't put anything in the rootfs if you don't have to", Sshfs is also bundled, although Kobo kernels do not ship with FUSE enabled, so making use of it will requireīuilding/installing the proper kernel modules, c.f. ).Īnd yes, just for kicks, there's also KindleTool in there D. Xzdec, zstd-decompress, lz4, ImageMagick, gawk, nano, ZSH, ag, tmux, GDB, gprof, perf, objdump, cURL, evtest, evemu,įBInk, the full OpenSSH suite, jq, bsdtar, lftp, tree, file, dtc,Īnd a CLI Python 2.7 & Python 3.9 build with quite a few third-party modules (HTTPie, requests & co, Pillow, wand. That includes, among other things, stuff like less, htop, strace, ltrace, lsof, fbgrab, sqlite3, elfutils, rsync, This is basically a collection of all the custom binaries I use throughout my Kindle hacks,īut built for the Kobo, put in a single package, and symlinked (when not clashing) in the PATH.

Euphorias Hunter Schafer as Tigris Snow in 'The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes' heading to. But, when they finally meet, he revealed who he truly was. I can’t imagine how short someone my height (53) would look compared to everyone else. She thought he was a boy named Tyler (ShyGuy118), who she started developing real feelings for. She thought he was a boy named Tyler (ShyGuy118), who she started developing real feelings for. Maddy made sure she was a perfect girl for Nate: imitating sex. Because of her height difference compared to Nate and the rest of the main female cast I assumed she was short. Their relationship started very positively: Nate gave Maddy flowers every day and really loved her, which Maddy reciprocated. Sometime in high school, Maddy started to develop an attraction to Nate, which lasted for a while before Nate finally asked her out. Nate, Elordi’s character, isn’t exactly a pacifist. The relationship between Nate Jacobs and Maddy Perez began before 'Pilot'. The differential is often used to show intimidation. In Euphoria, the team uses Elordi’s height to intimidate he basically towers over his 5’2” costar and on-screen girlfriend Alexa Demie. The TV show Euphoria streamed through HBO, discusses the struggles and hardships teens in the 21st century are going through and has helped them know they are not alone. Sometimes, he says, he’ll even squat down, spitting his legs into a V to lower himself. Other tricks include having his costars stand on a box so they can be square in a shot with Elordi-and not just hovering around his midsection. “Everyone’s like, ‘You’re so big!’ Yeah, but they’re also not big, not even average-sized women. “The trick is they just always cast me with girls who are five-foot-two,” he says. But if you’re Elordi-appearing in mostly late teen franchises ( The Kissing Booth, Euphoria) beside costars who can conceivably pass for high-schoolers-you’re bound to appear, like, extra tall.Įlordi doesn’t think he’s massive. He stands at 6’0 Angus family hails from Ireland, where most of them are still located. Tall men on the screen blend in naturally enough. Conor Angus Cloud Hickey (JJuly 31, 2023), professionally known as Angus Cloud, was an American actor. “I truly think I would’ve been miserable if I had to do that.”Įlordi says he was told something similar when he went into acting. “I’m very grateful,” he says in his Men’s Health January cover story. Elordi was told he was actually too tall the sample sizes wouldn’t fit. Euphoria actor you need to know.Jacob Elordi Height, Weight. So online there's all different kinds of numbers. I used to try and pass for 6'2' or 6'3' but I'm actually 6'5'. He told GQ: 'I was super nervous about telling people my height. Jacob actually used to lie about his height after being told he was 'too tall' to act. When Jacob Elordi was 15, his mother urged him to try modeling-as all mothers of tall boys suggest, naturally. Jacob Elordi is six feet and five inches tall or 1.95 in metres. The AI is tough but not too bright, providing a solid challenge for even veterans of the fighting genre. It copies a lot from the iconic series, but the coolest addition is being able to strike opponents while they are on the ground and that super moves don’t end until the round is over. This title may actually be what Double Dragon V was trying to accomplish in making something akin to Street Fighter, but it worked better because Technos had a hand in the development. This entry is a Neo Geo fighting game that was ported to the PlayStation. Weirdly, some have still defended this one as their favorite. There are some neat segments, but it’s mediocre overall. The game was critically well-received when it first came out but it doesn’t hold up. This becomes a pain due to stages being quite lengthy. The game is difficult, where you can get stuck in enemy attack combos and when one player dies, both must continue back at the start of the level. It released on the NES, pushing that system to its limits, and then came to the 16-bit consoles, where those two versions were not that different. Gameplay feels like a Battletoads game and many of the Double Dragon enemies were misnamed. Technos had almost no involvement in this and it shows. The plot is even centered on events involving their villain, The Black Queen. As their placement in the title might imply, this is much more of a Battletoads game than it is a starring role for the Lee brothers. Battletoads and Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team (1993) Honestly, it shouldn’t have even made the list.Ĩ. This mistake of a game is brief, beatable in just over an hour with no additional modes or benefits for playing it again. But the worst part is that the sound effects do not fit a beat ‘em up in the slightest and takes me out of the action. Here, the music also fails to achieve anything significant, a major faux pas in a series that has a lot of good tunes. The sprites and backgrounds look good, but any type of motion is choppy and irritating to the eyes. Not only is the combat floaty, making it difficult to land certain moves, for some reason characters can pick up and use guns, which just feels odd and out of place in this series. It doesn’t play at all like the originals. Developed by Virgin Games, this handheld edition for the Sega Game Gear has a much different story that sees Billy Lee avenging the murder of his brother, Jimmy. This one shouldn’t be played, or exist, as it shares almost nothing with the rest of the titles in the series, other than a name. This one shouldn’t even be considered part of the series, so just skip it. The motions aren’t smooth and fights have such a rough flow that the game loses any appeal it might have quickly. If they wanted to copy Street Fighter, they should have gone all out with that on the mechanics, as the word clunky doesn’t even begin to describe trying to execute special moves. The graphics and stages are mostly forgettable and combat is extremely lackluster. There are twelve playable characters, all taken from the mostly enjoyable Double Dragon cartoon, an awkward mechanic for altering stats, and somewhat serviceable music. It is a one-on-one fighting game that stole all of its inspiration from Street Fighter II, attempting to capitalize on the success of the budding genre that games like it and Mortal Kombat that had inspired massive consumer demand. This game was not made by Technos and doesn’t play like the popular entries in the franchise, or even play ‘well’ for that matter. Most of these are ports from the original arcade games, which can be found on Steam as a collection.ġ0. So here is a fun list of most of the console and handheld system games and where I think they rank for the player who wants to experience the series before a new installment arrives. Now, since the new release has a few people talking, I want to see if I can encourage some new players to try their hand at being the heroes. Certain installments can be a bit frustrating, but I always find myself coming back and trying again, pushing forward to save Marian and bring some justice where I can. In this post-apocalyptic world Billy and Jimmy Lee battle against the Black Warrior gang in a series inspired by Mad Max and martial arts films. I’ve also been re-watching some of the cartoon, one of my favorites when I was a kid, and while I could go read the comics that Marvel produced for the franchise again, or (if I really get desperate for more Double Dragon) there is that movie we don’t speak of, but those are all just icing on the cake to the games. Not just because I would get a new beat ‘em up to fight through, but because the news offered me the perfect opportunity to replay all of the games. I know I can’t have been the only one excited recently to see a new retro-styled Double Dragon game coming out, and so soon after its reveal. there are plenty of OTHER free ware graphical ping tools out there, probably they don't want you using command prompt anymore, but since we have to use it for some things STILL it would be nice for ALL the tools to be Windows GUI. Typically you wouldn't care about the 'look' of a desktop, you are concerned with services and programs, not look and feel. Learn how to manage multiple remote desktop connections with Windows 7 and MuRD. The reason AERO specifically isn't a good idea, is because of bandwidth over a remote connection. Hope that helps? All this is doing is let the user log into Guacamole & "choose" there which connection to make: Win7 normal user, Win7 Admin Console, Win10 normal user, Win10 Admin Console.Remote desktop isn't really a desktop replacement, it's more of a administrative quick change or remote access to get to files or change settings remotely, you wouldn't use Remote Desktop full time. This way the user's don't have to enter their UserID and Password twice.įor reference to the above "Guacamole Parameter Tokens" see: They won't even get prompted for login/password by windows because Guacamole will pass their UserName and Password to Freerdp which will use them to log into the windows VMs. Now when your User logs into Guacamole they will see 4 Guacamole Connections:Īll they will have to doe is click on whichever connection they want and because you setup the connections using those special fields "console - If set to "true", you will be connected to the console (admin) session of the RDP server."Įdit each Guacamole USER and make sure they are given access to all 4 Connections. In only the win7Admin and in the win10Admin check the Connection field box labeled "console"Īnd look under Session Settings - RDP for "console" where it says: From there, as Marcus said, you can get to Restart, Shutdown, etc. This effectively sends a Ctrl + Alt + Del to the remote computer (so its handy to know for other occasions/uses too). Guacamole will show you "*" for each letter you type in the password field so type carefully. You do have to be in full screen and/or have the RDP session set to Apply Windows key combinations on the remote computer. In the Connection "field" under Authentication labeled "password" put: In the Connection "field" under Authentication labeled "username" put: Note: in the following those are curly "" braces not parentheses "()"! In guacamole you could create 4 connections, two for your Win7 and two for Win10. ASSUMING - the Windows UserID and Password are the same as the Guacamole UserID and Password. The Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) 8.0 update lets you use the new Remote Desktop Services features that were introduced in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. Now I still may not be understanding exactly what you are doing but. If so, then you are using FreeRDP ( freerdp, whose Debian/Ubuntu package name is freerdp-x11) on that linux to connect to the Windows 7 or Windows 10 VMs? There you can create and deploy a customized Streamer for computers that will be managed under your account. So I assume you are running Guacamole on a Linux VM/server/Desktop? okay, yes I misunderstood what you wanted to do. I used XRDP so much as a Linux RDP Server that I inadvertantly mixed the two. In my original post I'd mistakenly referred to XRDP instead of FreeRDP as the application that implements an RDP connection from a linux system to a Windows system. A total of 4,446 YA books have graced the lists.Remember that there are three years’ of data that only include half of the lists, so these numbers reflect the available data and not the titles which are missing. The NYT YA Bestseller List By The Numbers Total Number of Books on the New York Times YA Bestseller List The final data used is December 25, 2022. The data used begins December 6, 2012, the first day of a separate YA list. I welcome you to do your own work and share your findings if something doesn’t sit right with you. That said, there will be mistakes, and there will be categorization choices you don’t agree with. I’ve been blogging about YA books and the YA book world for over 15 years, and my knowledge of this category is broad and deep. The work of compiling, sorting, and categorizing the books on ten years’ worth of lists took a lot of time, and there was certainly an element of subjectivity involved. This helped open up the lists to more titles and more accurately reflected what was selling and how. This change made sense, as paperback titles dominated the bestseller list it was much easier and cheaper to sell boatloads of copies of titles in paperback than in hardcover. Now, rather than a single list that captured sales of all formats of a book, the lists would separate out the Young Adult Bestsellers in paperback and hardcover ebook sales were separated out and series books would appear on a separate list that also included middle grade titles. August 2015 marked the biggest shift since the lists development. Like other NYT Bestseller lists, the Young Adult lists have evolved over their ten years in existence. The New York Times Best Seller list for Young Adults began by including sales totals that included hardcover, paperback, and ebooks. This change made it possible to better differentiate among the books for young readers - middle grade and young adult - and it opened up the possibility for more titles within each category to hit the list. At that time, young adult books were merged with other chapter books, creating a list that was a mix of young adult and middle grade titles. Prior to December 6, 2012, there was no standalone New York Times Best Seller list for young adult novels. Six men were charged in federal court with conspiring to kidnap the governor in reaction to what they viewed as her “uncontrolled power” after coronavirus restrictions closed down businesses and mask mandates were issued.Īdam Fox, Barry Croft, Ty Garbin, Kaleb Franks, Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta were all named in the complaint. The defense also states Fox had no intention of kidnapping the governor but instead wanted to legally pursue action against Whitmer, using the quote to argue their case: “I’ve got a guy right now drawing up the paperwork to f****** legitimatize this shit and actually charge Whitmer with her charges that she violated the Constitution. The defense claims that confidential informants were working together which shows collusion. The documents state that Fox could not have been the leader of the group because his messages indicate Fox believed the FBI’s informant was the true leader, arguing messages and recordings show Fox looked up to the informant. The defense says Adam Fox, who prosecutors say was the leader of the group behind the plot, never intended to kidnap or kill Governor Whitmer. The defense claims the men charged didn't start it. In the documents, the defense argues that had the FBI not told the confidential informant what to do, there would not have been a plot to kidnap Whitmer to begin with. The open Y shape gives us an unobstructed view-and better control-of the peeling action, so we know exactly what is happening at all times. On many peelers both blades are equally sharp, so you can reverse direction as needed. On both, the peeler’s dual blade operates the same way, with the first half traveling over the food, guiding the angle of the second, which actually cuts in and does the peeling. You can use both styles of peeler in either direction, flicking it away from you or pulling it toward you along the surface of food. Y peelers are usually held between the thumb and forefinger. The next biggest difference comes down to the way you hold them: You grasp a straight peeler by its handle, like a knife. Y peelers are, well, Y-shaped, with the blade suspended between the tips of the Y. Straight peelers are the earliest form of vegetable peeler they’re shaped like the paring knives that they were based on, with the blade extending straight out from the handle. The overall shape of the peeler is the biggest difference. A Style That Works for You: Whether you prefer a Y-shaped or straight peeler is personal. We rounded up more than a dozen peelers in two main styles-Y-shaped and straight-plus a few innovative models, and put them to the test. And when the work is done, your hand shouldn’t feel the worse for wear. Whatever the task, the peeler should handle bumps and curves with ease and without clogging or losing its edge. Bad peelers abound, though, making these jobs tiresome and even sometimes dangerous.Ī good peeler should be fast and smooth, shaving off just enough skin to avoid the need for repeat trips over the same section but not so much that the blade digs deeply into the flesh and wastes food. We use vegetable/fruit peelers to prep a variety of produce, from carrots and potatoes to tough squash, tender ginger, and leathery lemon peel-and even for shaving Parmesan flakes or making chocolate curls. If you prefer straight peelers, we suggest the OXO Good Grips Swivel Peeler, with its sharp stainless-steel blade. The Kuhn Rikon Original Swiss Peeler, our longtime Y-shaped winner, is our top choice, with its smoothly gliding, wickedly sharp carbon-steel blade. There are two main types: Y-shaped and straight we chose favorites of each. The best are light and comfortable, with a sharp, maneuverable blade that peels neatly without waste and keeps its edge. A great peeler makes short work of prepping vegetables and fruit. If you want to travel, then travel! Don't ruin the experience by working at the same time.
